Information on the recording of phone calls forwarded to the Customer Service
(pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Personal Data Protection Code)
Purpose of data processing
In accordance with Article 13 of the Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003), METEORAUTOMOTIVE informs its users that incoming and outgoing phone calls to its Customer Service may be recorded.
The recording is carried out for the following purposes:
improvement of METEORAUTOMOTIVE services and products.
programming and control of interventions carried out or to be carried out by the assistance service for the benefit of customers;
processing of statistics;
preparation of reports on needs and customer satisfaction in relation to the services offered;
management of reports and/or complaints (bearing in mind that telephone communication is not the specified method for submitting complaints regarding personnel behavior);
security reasons.
METEORAUTOMOTIVE has no interest in collecting and/or recording sensitive or judicial data, and we urge users of the Customer Service not to provide them during phone calls.
Data processing methods
During the phone call, the user will be informed in advance about the start of the recording through a brief information note issued by the staff or a recorded voice.
The continuation of the call following the user’s listening to the information regarding the possibility mentioned above is equivalent to the user’s consent to the processing of personal data to be provided to the operator and to the recording of the phone conversation.
The recording of phone calls will be done through an automated system that will record incoming and outgoing calls.
The recordings of phone calls can only be listened to by staff expressly authorized to do so, who, as data processors, provide technical support and/or coordinate customer service. It is specified that the processing of personal data is carried out in a way that minimizes the risks of destruction or loss, including accidental, unauthorized access, or processing that is not allowed and not in line with the purposes of data collection.
In particular, in the processing of data, METEORAUTOMOTIVE, and those responsible for it, will use organizational, physical, and logical measures to ensure security and confidentiality, with the use of suitable measures to classify, store, and maintain the confidentiality of the data, such as periodic checks, storage in closed cabinets, fire protection devices, electrical continuity, user identification, antivirus control, periodic backups, etc.
Nature of data provision
The provision of data is optional but necessary to formalize, welcome, and manage assistance requests. Without the provision of data, it will not be possible to follow up on assistance requests from METEORAUTOMOTIVE and/or those appointed by it.
Communication and/or dissemination of data
The data may be communicated, in compliance with the provisions of the Code and without the user’s consent, to the following people or entities who may carry out processing operations on behalf of METEORAUTOMOTIVE: appointed companies or consultants, Public Bodies, Authorities, or Public Institutions; independent collaborators of the company or other related companies and/or entities, other offices of this company; the company’s suppliers; agents; as well as anyone who is a legitimate recipient of communications required by laws or regulations.
Due to the existence of connections made through telematic, computer, or correspondence means, the data may be made available abroad both within the territorial scope of EU countries and in non-EU countries.
Rights of the Data Subject
Art. 7 of Legislative Decree 30 June 2003, no. 196 (Right of access to personal data and other rights) recognizes the following rights to the data subject which we invite you to carefully consider:

Telephone recordings will be stored on magnetic media not accessible to unauthorized third parties and kept by a designated data processor, in accordance with Art. 13, paragraph 3, of the Code and for the technical time necessary to process user requests and carry out the above-mentioned statistical surveys.
The maximum retention time for recordings will not exceed two years. After this period, the recordings will be deleted so they can no longer be used.
